Using punctuation correctly can make a huge difference to the meaning of your writing. Take a look at this sentence:
"Am I looking at my dinner or the dog's?"
Now look at this one:
"Am I looking at my dinner or the dogs?
One punctuation mark alters the meaning entirely!
Or try your skills with this 5OO year old puzzle:
Every Lady in this Land
Hath 20 Nails on each Hand; Five and twenty on Hands and Feet;
And this is true, without deceit.
If you know how to punctuate this correctly, so that it makes sense, you don't need this course. On the other Hand (!), if you don't, you do!!! |
